GERALD (JERRY) G. BRADLEY, Jr., age 87 years of Grand Rapids, formerly of the Lenawee and Hillsdale County areas and Florida, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009, at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. He was born on April 18, 1922 in Pittsford, Michigan, the son of Gerald G. and Chloe (Anspach) Bradley, Sr. Jerry graduated from Pittsford High School. He married Elaine A. Green on April 20, 1946 in Addison. She preceded him in death on January 6, 2008. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army and retired shift commander from the State Prison of Southern Michigan in Jackson. He was a two-time president of the Beverly Hills Lions in Florida and a lifetime member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his son, James R. Bradley of Marion, daughter, Lynne M. (Thomas) Bradley-Horan of Sparta, and sister, Edna Mae (Park) Gregory of Belleville. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and sister, Elizabeth (Charles) Chaffin. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Wheatland Congregational Chuch in Pittsford with Rev. Clyde L. Wonders officiating. Interment of ashes will follow at Churches Corners Cemetery in Pittsford. Military Honors will be conducted by Hannan-Colvin Post #180 American Legion of Hudson. Memorials may be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind (www.leaderdog.org). Arrangements were entrusted to Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison.
