BEATRICE E. REYNOLDS, age 89 years of Jackson, formerly of Hudson, passed away Friday, January 15, 2010 at Allegiance Health in Jackson. Beatrice was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 19, 1920, the daughter of Harry and Lilly (Wrigley) Dean. She graduated from Wolverine High School and Siena Heights University with a B. A. in Education. Beatrice married Leslie B. Reynolds on August 23, 1941 in Cheboygan; he preceded her in death on March 1, 2004. She started the art department at Addison Schools where she taught for over 15 years. Beatrice loved art, especially working with water colors and charcoal. She was very active in her church, the Hudson First United Methodist Church and Brookside United Methodist Church in Jackson where she was former church secretary, bible school teacher, the church choir member, Past President of the Women's Club and active with the Gideon's. She was a 4-H and Girl Scout leader and member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. Beatrice is survived by her daughter, Merrilee (Lew) Hammond, grandson, Matthew Hammond all of Jackson, Aunt Janet (Cecil) Flynn of Haslett and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 2 sisters, June Compton and Aletta Dean. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Brookside United Methodist Church in Jackson with Pastor Chad Parmalee officiating. Memorials are suggested to the church or Gideon Bible Program. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson.
