RICK D. WILLIAMS, age 60 of Cement City, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at his home. He was born on August 17, 1949 in Jackson, Michigan to Harold L. and Thelma L. (Adams) Williams. He married Patti A. Thompson on July 30, 1983 on Goose Lake, Cement City, and she survives. Rick lived in the Cement City area all his life. He graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1968. He then earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at Jackson Community College. Rick was in the National Guard from 1968-1974. He was part owner of Paradise Campground in Cement City. He was the Woodstock Township Police Chief from 1970-1997, and he also trained K-9 Dogs. He then was employed at the Gus Harrison Facility in Adrian since 1997. Rick was elected Woodstock Township Supervisor in 2008. He was on the Addison Hospital Board for several years. He was a member of the Durkee-Seager Post #550 American Legion, Onsted, MI, and a member 3689 Fraternal Order of Eagles of Brooklyn. Surviving besides his wife Patti are, one step-son Derek (Ann) Tipton of Ocala, Florida, one step-daughter, Shawn (Mike) Hendershot of Adrian, one brother, Terry (Linda) Williams of Clark Lake, two sisters, Deborah (Jerry) Lowe of Manitou Beach, Karin (John) Devine of Cement City, his father Harold L. Williams of Cement City, several grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Cement City Baptist Church in Cement City, with Pastor Drew Woods and Rev. Chris Cadwallader officiating. Burial will take place in Woodstock-Sanford Cemetery, Woodstock Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. The visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, and from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison. Full Military Rites will be performed by the Durkee-Seager Post #550 American Legion, Onsted, MI.
